When constructing a care plan our priority is to assess the needs of a person to allow them maximum independence.
Often people are timid about asking for help. A person will change their life and routine to meet their capacities.
One of the ladies we recently meet so valued her independance she didn't ask for help even when the cleaning became too much. She simply didn't have friends come to her home.
After the hospital became aware of her a needs assessment was completed and a cleaner was quickly arranged. Such a small service can liberate a person and allow them to live with pride in their own home and community.
