Essential Care Services To The Rescue

I can honestly say miracles do happen.

Recently I was in a terrible dilemma. My elderly friend Elen, 93 years old and blind was returning home from hospital after an acute illness. Her elderly live in companion was no longer able to care for her and I had promised Elen that under no circumstances would I put her in a nursing home. She had always been fiercely independent and had expressed a wish that she wanted to die in her own home.

I even entertained the idea of taking on the job myself which would have meant my giving up work and I soon realised that the job was too big for one person.

I contacted Essential Care services, which had been highly recommended to me, and sure enough it was like a great weight had been lifted off me. Immediately they sprang into action. Elen's bedroom had to be relocated and set up in another part of the house. Bathroom modifications were carried out, the house was cleaned from top to bottom and an electric bed was installed for Elen's comfort and the Occupational Health and Safety of the carers.

It was a pleasure to visit Elen for the next 12 months of her life. She was happy, beautifully cared for by the girls supplied by ECS. I would arrive and the house was spotlessly clean, it smelt of lavender and soft music was playing.

Elen was well nourished and well hydrated. The girls made sure Elen had regular checks by her LMO, prompted her to take her medication, called in appropriate services when necessary, cooked, washed, tendered to the garden and generally made Elen's last days the best possible anyone could provide. She died with dignity holding her carers hand. Elen had no family but she didn't die alone.

Nothing was ever a trouble for ECS. Evan and Sandra in the office were always courteous, friendly and most helpful. The carers were first class!

I feel I need to spread the news if you have a loved one or friend who requires help be it 24 hours a day or just a couple of hours a week phone ECS and all your problems will be solved. I can assure you, you will receive superior quality service.
